The World needs more Coop Games

Man sometimes it seems like Game Developers just don't get the hint.  Look at the most popular games of the past. Halo, World of Warcraft, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time ...  What did all these games have in common? ... Cooperative play.  Why were they so popular ... Cooperative Play! And while other factors definitally contributed to their popularity, i'd be willing to bet Cooperative play was one of the biggest deciding factors in someone wanting to buy the game.

I would be willing to bet that a game with Cooperative Play with gameplay sub-par to a game without Coop Play. The game with Coop play would still be more popular. Yet we still see alot of games being release without Cooperative play!  And usually the excuse is time constraints or not enough demand. For those excuses people should look at the high trend of a games success linked directly to it's Coop Play. Come on game developers, take the hint and make more Coop games. At least the new Super Mario is 4 player Coop (pictured left).  Looks like Nintendo is seeing the trend. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles - Excellent Coop Gameplay, couldn't recommend higher, a must have for every DS Owner.
